Also- I think reviews are this week (and raises) so here's hoping that goes without too much...ickyness.
First up- enter my giveaway here!!
So last week (which counts as a 6 day weekend) I went to Miami with hubs for his business trip. We stayed at the Ritz, and while it was super nice, I was a little underwhelmed for the cost. We had a good time though, and while hubs worked I hung out with his coworker's husband who was there too. I was a horrible blogger and only took pics of the scenery, not us, but still some good iphone photos!

I also booked another wedding for 2013 while we were in Miami!! It's in February and is a friend of a friend who needs help with her Jewish wedding, so it's a perfect fit. I'm super excited! That puts me at 5 total, and I'd like to book 1-2 more at least for the year. :)
We headed back on Friday night to meet my sister and our dogs, then just hung out and ate pizza that night. Saturday we slept in and cuddled in bed with the dogs watching crime tv, lol. Then we ran a few errands and watched football and more tv. Our friends Lizzie and Curtis came over at night to watch the Vikings/Packers game and enjoy a fire in the fire pit. It was a nice low key night with good friends, and was a good decision for us based on our savings/debt goal for the first half of 2013. No spending money, YAY!
Sunday we slept in again, then headed to our favorite local restaurant to watch the Colts game. We aren't supposed to be spending money, but since we had a coupon, they have 2 for 1s all day and .50 wings, it was a reasonable choice. We met up with Lizzie and Curtis again, then later were joined by 6 more friends. We had the same great food and server we always do, and my Colts lost. I only cried a little and then comforted myself with a chocolate milkshake, since the fitness and diet portion of new years starts today.
We hung around to watch the first half of the Redskins game, then headed home to lay in bed and read blogs, online shop with giftcards and watch more football.
All in all it was a very relaxing few days, just spending time together. After a drunken new years eve and a completely sick new years day it was nice to recover and snuggle with my hubby.
Side note- I'm currently FURIOUS with Target. I generally love them and spend chunks of money there (on Saturday in fact) but I got a gift card from my last bride as a job well done kind of thing. She paid for it, but the cashier didn't activate it apparently, because it won't work for me. I spoke to 4 people this morning and now if I want it, she has to call them with the receipt number or her credit card statement to prove it was paid for, then they'll send another one. Seriously?! How much money do you make Target? Do you know how rude it is to call someone who gave you a gift and ask them to do more work so you can use it? I'm definitely not happy and will not be shopping there for a good long while.

Sounds like your Miami trip was super relaxing! I could use a warm weather trip right about now :) And that stinks about your Target gift card! I hope they can figure something out.
ReplyDeleteThat happened to me once at a different store. And P.S. who the hell keeps gift receipts for gift cards? Well I do now!
